Lots of developers are building XAML-based applications today.  Be it WPF, Silverlight or Windows Phone 7, I have seen a lot of people struggle with certain tasks in Visual Studio that would be much easier if undertaken in Expression Blend.  Blend seems to be somewhat intimidating to developers, especially those that are already wrestling with learning XAML. Having spent time in both tools, I can tell you that Blend can make three things dramatically easier, and you should learn how to do these three things with Blend, even if you never use it for anything else.

The Windows Phone 7 Developer Launch in Minneapolis finished up this week.  As I told the folks that attended, if you need to test your app on an actual device, I will be holding “Office Hours” at the Microsoft office in Bloomington.  To make things easy, I will be at the Microsoft office from 9am to 1pm the week of Oct 18th (Monday – Friday).  Drop me an email and let me know what day/time works for you and I’ll set aside the time to test your app on a WP7 device.  All you need to do is bring your XAP file if you want to travel light.  If that week/time slot doesn’t work, feel free to contact me and we can try and set up an alternative time.
