A good
interview with Windows client exec Gary Schare. He shares some thoughts about IE and related things like IE "extenders" and Firefox. At the end of the day, I am not sure I like what we are, or more accurately, not doing with IE. I can somewhat understand the strategy since I am now a devoted
Maxthon user and after having used that for some time I was not blown away by Firefox after having tried it for a couple days. But, if I was just a plain old IE user, I can see the attraction. My biggest fear of Microsoft's IE strategy is that we are once again putting a lot of eggs into the Longhorn basket and if the web browsing experience is not all that and a bag of chips in Longhorn, the disappointment will be large and possibly even resentful.
