Techincal Bloggers and what they Blog about

12/5/2004 9:27:11 AM
Ok... this is probably a pointless rant and one that perhaps I will also violate at some point in the future, but what is up with all of these Microsoft (and other big non-Microsoft .NET names) blogging about all kinds of crap that I truly have to believe almost no one cares about. Is there really a bunch of techno nerd groupies that really care about the mundane details of these luminaries personal lives? Gringe at the thought.

For example, do you really care what Indian place a certain Microsoft big wig eats at? Or is it interesting to you that developer so-and-so had a nice outing where they talked about different types of coffee.

I don't know, maybe I am just a blogging fuddy duddy. I guess I have had a more than a few posts that are completely non-technical so I'm just the pot calling the kettle black. But if I read one more post about how a Microsoftie wandered the halls of Building xyz and bumped into Tom, Dick and Harry who all went and ate at the new cafeteria and talked about toe fungus, I may just have to start blogging about something as incredibly interesting as what happened to me when I went shopping at Target for toilet bowl cleaner.

Once again, I wish I had comments working so I could here what others think. Email me and I will collect the comments and try and summarize in a future entry.
