One of the cooler and more useful services to have materialized on Windows Live is Live Events. In a nutshell, it allows you to create custom "event" pages that can include all sorts of stuff like photos, details, calendar, maps, etc. along with follow-up blog postings and other stuff. Very useful when holding those type of "I want to have a web page for my kegger this weekend" type of things. ;-) Check it out.
