TechEd To Become Two Conferences - About Time!

For a very long time, TechEd was an IT infrastructure event.  Then they started to add more and more developer content as the Microsoft dev offering grew and Microsoft started to finally realize that developers might like to have a Microsoft sponsored event more frequently then the ever so annoyingly infrequent and unpredictable PDC.  Even though the amount of dev content at TechEd has grown ever year, it has always felt like a "bolt-on" to the actual event.  I've been saying for years that Microsoft needed to have a separate developer event from TechEd that happened every year.  PDC just doesn't happen enough and is not focused on what 90% of the developer world cares about.

In what will surely go down as one of the biggest "I told you so" moments in Jeff Brand's humble existence, its been announced that Tech∙Ed 2008 will be split into two separate conferences, running back to back. First up on June 3rd, the Tech∙Ed Developers 2008 conference will kick off in Orlando, followed up by the Tech∙Ed IT Professionals conference to be held in the same location starting June 10th.

Tech∙Ed U.S. Developers 2008 - June 3-6, 2008, Orlando FL, Orange County Convention Center

Tech∙Ed U.S. IT Professionals 2008 - June 10-13, 2008, Orlando FL, Orange County Convention Center

You will even get special pricing if you are one sick puppy and opt to attend both!
